US NAVY FIGHTER AIRCRAFT MADE SIMULATED STRAFING RUNS.  IT WAS LOUD! (WE WERE PROVIDED WITH FREE, MUCH-NEEDED, EAR PLUGS.) 

PYROTECHNIC EXPERTS ON THE GROUND CREATED SIMULATED BOMB EXPLOSIONS DURING STRAFING RUNS. 

   

   


THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY WAS WATCHING THE RENOWNED U.S. NAVY BLUE ANGELS FLYING DEMONSTRATION SQUADRON.

THE BLUE ANGELS USE A U.S. MARINE CORPS C-130 HERCULES AIRCRAFT NICKNAMED "FAT ALBERT" TO CARRY THEIR EQUIPMENT, SPARE PARTS AND SUPPORT PERSONNEL BETWEEN SHOWS.

TOOK TIME TO MEET USS CORRY SHIPMATES.

24 CANDLES LIT FOR EACH OF THE  24 USS CORRY SHIPMATES LOST AS A RESULT OF THE D-DAY BATTLE,  


AND ONE LARGE CANDLE LIT FOR CORRY SHIPMATES NO LONGER WITH US.

FLO GARAY AND SONS RECEIVING THE USS CORRY D-DAY FLAG FROM GULLY. FLO'S HUSBAND, LIEUTENANT (JG) PAUL GARAY, RETRIEVED THE FLAG FROM THE SINKING CORRY ON D-DAY. LT. GARAY ALSO RECEIVED THE US NAVY BRONZE STAR FOR RESCUING TRAPPED SHIPMATES BELOW DECK.
